Why We Need Truck Tank Secondary Spill Containment Systems
Take a moment to think about how many trucks you pass on your daily commute. Now, imagine if one of those trucks were to get in an accident and spill its hazardous material All Over the road. This scenario is a scary one; it could cause a multitude of environmental problems and also endanger people who are driving.
Although it's fairly rare for such spills to occur, it's still important for precautions to be in place to handle the situation when it does arise. Not every truck on the highway is carrying hazardous materials, but for those that are it's essential to have truck tank secondary spill containment systems in place.
These systems help contain any incidental spills that occur during tank truck transfer operations and while trucks are actively on the road. There are several different varieties to choose from – modular systems, heavy-duty, drive-on systems and more – but all truck tank secondary containment systems:

* Can be installed on a variety of solid substrates and applications
* Will not crack like concrete systems do
The EPA and the SPCC have strict regulations regarding hazardous material secondary spill containment. There are hefty fines in place for companies who don't comply, because these agencies understand how important it is to protect us and our environment from the potentially harmful materials tanks and trucks are transporting. In addition, the people who are driving these vehicles and transferring these materials need protection as well.
The goal of truck tank secondary spill containment systems is to keep the environment, the roadways and our society safe. We're lucky these important precautions are in place, and we should be thankful for the people enforcing them.
