1.your mother is preparing some vegetables sticks for a party. she discovers that the cucumber in the refrigerator is no longer crisp, but has turned soft and soggy. based on what you have learnt about osmosis, how can you help your mother make the cucumber crispy and crunchy? explain your answer.
2.jimmy bought a freshwater puffer fish. when he placed it in his marine fish tank containing salt water, the fish died. suggest reasons why the puffer fish died.(use your knowledge based on diffusion,osmosis and active transport)
Place the cucumber in an hypertonic solution( high solute and low water concentration). Because of osmosis, water will diffuse out of the cucumber into the hypertonic solution.
