For Soft Skin, Try Hawaiian Shea Butter Soaps

It is an affordable luxury to purchase handmade shea butter soap for use in the bath and kitchen.  Hawaiian Island soapmakers also produce excellent quality shea butter soaps for sale online, so that those who live on the mainland can also enjoy using these superior soaps made from healthful products.  

Natural shea butter soap contains its namesake, shea butter, which comes from the African shea tree and is extracted from the nut of that tree.  The nuts have the outer pulp removed, and then the shell is cracked.  The inner nut meat is then crushed after which it is roasted.  After the roasting, the nuts are ground, heated and mixed, and during this part of the process the shea oil is extracted.  The shea butter is then allowed to cool.  The finished product is soft yellow in color, and is what goes into shea butter soaps.

Shea butter is added to shea butter soaps because it is a wonderful moisturizer for the skin.  One of the great benefits that comes from using shea butter bar soap is that the shea butter within the bar will be absorbed quickly into the skin surface because shea butter melts at body temperature rapidly.  What this means is that shea butter soaps will not leave your skin with a greasy feeling after their use, but your skin should feel soft and smooth with repeated use.  It is for this reason that shea butter is found not only in handmade shea butter soap, but also in skin-softening creams and lotions, as well as hair products used on dry hair.

Shea butter soaps are made from coconut and palm oils.  These oils are mixed together over heat, and to which the shea butter is added, along with natural colors and fragrances.  A byproduct of creating shea butter soaps is that when palm and coconut oils are combined in the natural shea butter soap-making process, they also create glycerin.  Glycerin is another very emollient product that also softens and moisturizes the skin, and so handmade shea butter soap with glycerin delivers a double dose of skin-smoothing relief for dry skin.

Natural shea butter soap is quite popular in the Hawaiian Islands because people there often spend a great deal of time outdoors, enjoying the warm tropical weather.  But with that, they are exposed to the drying wind and sun, which can cause the skin to become rough.  It was for this reason, to smooth rough skin, that Hawaiian soapmakers craft handmade shea butter soap.
